Meet Michelle

 

Michelle Rowland is an award-winning International Master Lash Stylist, NALA certified Educator, Freelance Make Up Artist and founder of La Lash Academy. 

Starting her beauty career in 2000, Michelle Rowland quickly became one of Sydney’s most sought after bridal make-up artists. 

However, with the bright lights of Hollywood calling her name, she took a chance and made her way to La La Land. Mentored by industry experts, Ms. Kelcey Fry (Diane Keaton's Emmy Award winning personal Make Up Artist) and Ms. Judy Staats (Make Up Artist on the Academy Award winning movie Argo and the hugely popular show Prison Break) she was armed with her unique techniques. She quickly found herself working on movie sets and television productions. Her eye for detail set her up perfectly for the precision required for the High Definition cameras now used in the entertainment industry.

Word of Michelle’s talent spread quickly and her clientele roster soared beyond actresses, to directors, producers, writers, studio executives, rock star wives, and Playboy Playmates. You name it, she was there doing their make-up and lashing them.

So after returning to Sydney, Michelle wanted to bring back a little piece of her beloved L.A., putting the la in La Lash. An educational institution for those who want to be taught the intricacies of the lash industry. Training students is Michelle's greatest passion and goes hand in hand with her motto, 'We rise by lifting others.' She is a nurturer by nature and her goal is to empower and encourage her students to not only be the best lashes artists but to turn their careers into very successful businesses. Michelle loves people and their stories. While in L.A. she trained a stay-at-home mum, of 2 toddlers, the precise art of eyelash extensions. That mum is now the personal eyelash stylist to Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon! Michelle is thrilled to be bringing her revolutionary eyelash extension training to Australia with her boutique La Lash Academy.

After 5 years of being a lash technician, Michelle was left disappointed in the quality of product and continual lack of care when it came to other elements, like sustainability when sourcing brands to use. So after months of back and forth, searching for the most ethical partnerships and sustainable products it is our pleasure to introduce, La Lash Couture.
